CBA Fundraising – work at the Sugar Sand Festival

The Sugar Sand Festival is a 17-day beach wide celebration of Clearwater Beach’s two most notable natural assets: our sugar sand and sunsets. Eighteen master sand sculptors use 1,000 tons of Clearwater Beach’s sugar sand to create a walk-through art exhibit housed in a 24,000-square-foot structure.

The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival has offered us paid shifts for CBA members to assist the Festival with key operations. We will be earning $20/hour for the benefit of the Clearwater Beach Association. We did this a number of years ago and earned more than $8,000 for the CBA. 

Available roles include:

  • Gate Entrances: Welcome guests as they arrive and leave, provide a friendly presence and thank-you at festival entry points, and ensure that no alcohol leaves beyond the gates.
  • Ticketing Tent: Assist with ticket sales using Square registers. Credit card transactions only, no cash handling. Scan advanced ticket purchases, scan QR codes for the complimentary souvenir photo, and provide hand stamps for guest re-entry at the entrance.
  • Merchandise Store: Assist with merchandise purchases of festival apparel and gifts using Square registers. Credit card transactions only, no cash handling. Help restock and organize merchandise as needed.  

There will be a couple of pre-opening “training days” for those who are available.

The Square registers are quick and easy to use, and the training will show you how.

  • Wear comfortable clothes, hat, sunglasses, shoes. Casual beach attire/shorts are recommended (Sorry, no bathing suits. Please remember that this is a family-friendly event)
  • Must be able to walk in the sand and tolerate Florida heat
  • Sunscreen is provided upon request
